UNESCO-AL FOZAN International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in STEM

The Al Fozan foundation, since its creation, has strived to improve and increase the capacities of youth worldwide through the Sciences. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the world the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Thanks to the sciences and associated technologies, vaccines have been developed in record time. Schools have operated despite lockdown and our youth has innovated to adapt to the pandemic.

The Al Fozan foundation (founded by Mr. Abdullah Al Fozan), in its continuous support to youth, is very pleased to inform you that the foundation, in collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has established the UNESCO-AL FOZAN International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in STEM


The objectives of the Prize are to promote young scientists in STEM, aim to strengthen STEM research, STEM education, and international cooperation to confront the global challenges addressed by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognize the achievements of young people that are conducive to socio-economic transformation and development on a global scale and increase the interest of young people, particularly girls and women, in science to promote gender equality, scientific literacy and the choice of a scientific career.

The Prize (250,000 USD) is awarded every two years to five prize-winners each from the five UNESCO geographical regions (Europe and North America, Arab States, Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean).
