The Power Engineering faculty of Tajik Technical university named after M. S. Osimi was founded in September 1956.

Since the foundation of the Faculty of Power Engineering, thousands of highly qualified specialists have been trained to date, who are currently actively working in various sectors of the national economy of the country and beyond.

Their achievements and worthy work are the pride and honor of the university and faculty.

Currently, the faculty has 6 specialized departments and 1 university-wide department.:

1. Department of Power Plant;
2. Department of Electrical Supply;
3. Department of Automatic Electric Drives and Electric Vehicles;
4. Department of Relay Protection and Automation of Power Systems;
5. Department of Theoretical Foundations of Radio and Electrical Engineering;
6. Department of Engineering and Thermal Power Engineering;
7. Department of Physics.

The faculty trains PhD students in the specialties 6D 071700 – thermal energy and 6D 071800 – electrical energy.

The Faculty of Energy employs highly qualified professors and teachers, including 3 Doctors of Sciences and 55 candidates of Sciences, who carry out scientific and pedagogical activities. In total, the faculty's teaching staff and staff comprise more than 80 people.
