The area of scientific interests of the department: technique and technology of printing, the study of the properties of paper, the study of the surface of polymer films to improve the quality of printing.

           The department "Technology, machines, and Equipment of Polygraphic Production" was established in 2002 based on the department "Theory of Machines, mechanisms, and Machine Components." In 2004, to improve the educational and experimental base of specialties 1708, "Polygraphic machines and equipment of polygraphic production," and 2814, - "Technology of polygraphic production," by the decision of the Council of Scientists of the Technical University of Tajikistan named after academician M.S. Osimi under the number 01 of 04.10. In 2004, the department "Technology, machines, and equipment of polygraphic production" was opened, the head of which was entrusted to the expert in the field of polygraphy, Mahmudov Ahmadjon Mahmudovich.
To form specialties and provide the training process with experienced specialists, Mahmudov A.M., Safarov A.A., Qobilov A.H., Sabzaev H.T., and Jalilov T.S. were invited to work at the department.
In 2006-2009, the position of head of the department was held by K. A. Rahmonov, candidate of technical sciences, senior teacher, in 2009-2015, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Idiev M. T., in 2015-2020, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Ravshanov D. Ch. 2020–2022, candidate in technical sciences, acting associate professor Khojaev T.A. was in charge.
Currently (from 2022), the head of the department is a candidate in technical sciences and associate professor Ravshanov D.Ch. is responsible.
The department "Technology, machines, and equipment of polygraphic production" prepares specialists in two specialties: 1470201, "Technology of the printing industry," and 1360601-01, "Machines, equipment, and information processing systems of the printing industry." In 2023, it is planned to open another new specialty (1470201-03), "technology and design of luggage," in this department.
To date, the number of graduates from the department's specialties has reached more than 500, who are making a valuable contribution to the development of the republic's printing industry. After graduation, students work as technologists and mechanical engineers in the printing industry, in publishing houses, printing industries, enterprises, institutions, and productions that have a printing press, Tajikstandard (quality control of printed products), government bodies, colleges, and institutions. They can work professionally and technically.
The department cooperates with Moscow Polytechnic University, Ural Federal University named after B.N. Yeltsin, Omsk State Technical University, Tashkent Institute of Textiles and Light Industry, and St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, through which students are sent for internships, master's, and postgraduate studies. To date, through international cooperation, two graduates of the department—Ravshanov, D.Ch., and Safarov, B.S. They defended their thesis. Two of the graduates of the department Gadoev G.A. to Komsomol State Technical University in Amur Russian Federation; and Karimov A.A. were sent to Moscow Polytechnic University for postgraduate study. There are four active graduates of the department: Kholov F.B., Mahmadulloev R.Z., Dustov Z.S. and Karimov A.A. After completing the bachelor's degree, he received a master's degree at the Ural Federal University named after the first President of the Russian Federation, B.N. Yeltsin, and two of them, Kholov F.B. and Mahmadulloev R.Z., already after defending their master's theses, he returned to his country as a Ph.D. and is engaged in scientific and educational activities in the department. Also, several students from the department went to the Polytechnic University of Sh. They were sent to Moscow. The department actively participates in scientific conferences of students and teachers.

Students and teachers of the department have repeatedly received awards for the results of their research work.
The department organizes and conducts national and international seminars and conferences in the field of polygraphy. Also, active teachers and students of the department actively participate in national and international scientific conferences.
Currently, the department has 7 teachers and employees: a candidate of technical sciences, an associate professor, the head of the department, Ravshanov D.Ch., a candidate of technical sciences, an associate professor, Safarov B.S., senior teachers of the department, Tabarov Sh.S., Khojanazarov H.M., assistants Mahmadulloev R. .Z., Kholov F.B. and operator-operator Ibrahimzoda G.Kh. are working.
To better implement the educational process and scientific research activities, the department has long-term cooperation with private and state enterprises in the printing industry, including "Mega-print" "Free East," "Dushanbe Printing Company," "Modern Publishing," and "Gofro Aggregate." Test classrooms were opened in the bases of these enterprises.
50–60% of polygraphic lessons are conducted using computers and the InDesign, CorelDRAW, Photoshop, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and Illustrator programs.
Since the establishment of the department, more than 60 lists of educational and methodological works and more than 300 scientific articles have been published by the teachers. A departmental library has been established in the department, which helps to improve the quality of education.
