The Department of Information Technology and Information Protection was established on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council and the order of the Rector of the University No. 41-3/2 dated July 22, 2017. The training of specialists in the specialties of the department is carried out by 5 full-time teachers and 6 part-time teachers. Among them:                 

Achievements of the department:            From the day of formation to the present, the department trains scientific and pedagogical personnel in the field of information technology and information protection. Currently, the department is preparing 3 PhD students: Kayumov M.M., Kurbonov N.M., Bahoduri S.S., one of whom defended his doctoral dissertation in 2021. Also 2 applicants Toirova M.A., Tolibova S.N. In the last 3 years, the teachers of the department Musinov A.S. and Tolibova S.N. received a patent. Since the day the department was formed, teachers have published 61 scientific articles, 17 methodological, teaching aids and 1 monograph. To implement the training program for bachelors and masters, the department has 2 laboratories, which are equipped with an electronic board and a video projector. The laboratories are also equipped with 31 modern computers and a cryptography software stand. Since the day of its formation, the department has released 94 bachelors and 9 masters.            At the department there is a student scientific circle, in which students present their scientific reports. The best articles that are discussed in the circle are presented at scientific conferences, where students make a presentation on scientific work.            The plan of scientific research work of the department is approved annually, according to which the department performs scientific work. Based on the results of the research work, the doctoral student of the PhD department Kayumov Makhmadzoir Makhmaraҷabovich in the dissertation council 6D.KOA-032 defended his thesis on the topic “Recognition of the author of an unfamiliar text based on the frequencies of annagrams”.               Educational work at the department is carried out on the basis of the program presented by the leadership of the university and the faculty. The teachers of the department are curators of academic groups. Together with students, they actively participate in public works, sports competitions and events of various levels.

Currently, the department prepares highly qualified bachelors in three specialties 1-400102-04-"Information systems and technologies (in information processing and presentation)", 1-980101-0105-"Safety of automated information processing and control systems", 1-980101 -0103-"Secure Information Systems". The department also prepares undergraduates in the specialties 1-400102-04-"Information systems and technologies (in the processing and presentation of information)", 1-980101-0105-"Safety of automated information processing and control systems"
