The Chair of "Automated Control Systems" is one of the leading specialized departments at the Faculty of "Information and Communication Technologies" of the Tajik Technical University named after M.S. Osimi, which is based on the decision of the Academic Council of the University under No. 12 of 06.02.2018. and by order of the Rector of the University dated August 27, 2018 No. 1019-3 / 4.

Currently, the department has 9 teachers, 6 of which are candidates of science.

The main activity of the department "Automated Control Systems" is the management of various information processing systems based on modern computer methods and software systems, which includes the development of modern technologies, automated equipment and information management systems. A large amount of research has been done in this area. The results of the scientific work of the department are being introduced into ministries and departments, banks, industrial enterprises. The department trains engineers to work in the field of automated information processing systems, information technology software in the following specialties:

  1. 530102 - Automation of information processing systems;
  2. 400101 - Information technology software.

The department has 3 computer laboratories and a research laboratory, where students are regularly engaged in independent research work. The direction of students' research is devoted to automated control systems, software development, database management, website development and new software products.

Teachers and students of the department actively participated in inter-university competitions of inventors, republican and international competitions, presented software products:

- library management systems,

- translators of dictionaries;

- other modern software.

Areas of professional activity of bachelors include:

- Computers, complexes, systems and networks;

- Automated information processing and control systems;

- Systems of computer design;

- Software for computer equipment and automated systems (programs, packages and software systems);

- Mathematical, informational, technical, ergonomic, organizational and legal support of these automated systems;

Graduates of the department are engaged in the implementation and use of information processing management systems in all areas of activity and are in demand in the modern labor market. They can perform the following functions: 

- Engineer for automation of information processing systems;

- software engineer;

- systems engineer.

For those wishing to continue their education, the department has master's, postgraduate and doctoral programs. Directions of continuous education at the department:
